I've had these for 1-2 years, and they've broke now. Well, at least the left speaker doesn't work, the right's still fine. These don't have much base, and they are not the best on ear headphones. Now I have put these starters in my droor folded, and now I have the Beats Studio 2.0. I'm not saying that the Beats Studio are the best set of headphones, but they are better than the Lowriders considering the fact that they retail for $300 at best buy, and other stores. But if you are looking for good Skullcandy products for an ok price, I would say get the SkullCrush, those are NICE!

      March 16th, 2014

I purchased these knowing that the site said "no returns." Still, I'm disappointed and it was a waste of money. First off, the headphones look nothing like those in the picture. Secondly, they look and feel 'cheap'. In addition, they are tiny! I am a woman with an average sized head and they barely come down to my ears, I have NO idea how a man could wear these. I wanted an inexpensive pair to wear on the treadmill and unfortunately, I got what I paid for. I guess I'll go back to my skullcandy earbuds, which I DO like.

Been Meaning to do this for a while

      February 14th, 2014

      by Daniel Nesland

I have been a user of this model of headphones since my days in middle school. I had one of the older models without the mic included. it was one of the black and gold ones. THEY ARE BUILT TO LAST. I had that one pair for over 5 years before they started to show signs of wear and tear. this was with regular almost daily use mind you. They sound great and I have had no complaints with other skull candy products. the only thing that bugged me was the foam padding. while millions of times more comfortable than your every day 3 dollar head phones bought at a convenience store, after about an hour of continuous use my ears get really sore. could be because of my glasses not really sure on that. But otherwise completely satisfied

I got these from a vending machine in an airport (by Best Buy) and really got them because they were the only collapsible pair in there. I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the music that comes out and the durability. The Mic 1 works better than the buds that came with my iPhone.

Originally bought a pair in NYC from a rather shady hole in the wall type store. Those failed and Skullcandy honored the warranty. I replaced them with the exact same model under warranty, and I've had NO problems since. Comfy, great sound quality, and the purple color matches my wardrobe! My only complaint is the black vinyl surrounding the speakers is fairly cheap. That said, I used to go through headphones like underwear because they couldn't stand up to every day use. These have lasted the test of my every day use.

      A Great Buy

      January 29th, 2014

I have recently acquired a pair of these headphones. These don't have mind blowing bass, but they do offer exceptional sound over all. Their compact, portable folding design is great for throwing it into a backpack. The plastic may not be the best plastic ever, but all the padding couldn't be better. These headphones don't squeeze your head like a lot of other headphones, so you can wear them for a long period of time. Skullcandy has always put out a great product for the money and this one is no exception. Although tangle-free cord would be nice...

I got a pair for Christmas several years ago. They were the best headphones I could ever ask for, but I did a stupid thing and broke them at school. Very durable, very sleek, very stylish! I got another pair a year or two ago, but my brother ruined those because he would take them without permission and twist and turn them too much in the wire and broke the inner wire. Would I buy another pair? HECK YES! I would never buy another pair of headphones ever again.

I recently picked these up when I was looking for an on ear headphone. I have been buying Skullcandy products for a while now so these seemed solid. The sound overall is pretty good, and for the music I listen too the bass was just right. The one problem I had is that as the jack shakes with sudden movements my music will sometimes stop, skip or fast forward when I use them with my Ipod but never with any of my other devices. To be fair my Ipod is rater old and worn. All in all, pretty solid

      Love of my life

      October 10th, 2013

I bought these half a year ago kind of on a whim. I was gonna be traveling so the fact they could fold up so easily was the main reason I bought them. And then I actually heard the sound they produced and BAM, I was in heaven. I literally took those headphones with me everywhere. Friend of mine who owns a studio actually commented on how great they sounded, and was shocked when he found out how little I paid for them. I recently lost them somewhere, leaving me incredibly bummed. Just ordered me a new pair though, cause they're too addictive. That and they simply didn't break on me. I've sat on them several times, dropped them, tangled them, sent them flying and tripped over them. No way I'm ever buying anything not-Skullcandy again ;)

Nice pair of headphones, love the fact that they can fold and fit on the pocket of your cargos. Their only flaw is that they don't fit snug and because of that the sound leaks. Only way to fix this is using them with a cap or beanie.

I myself am more of an "Over-Ear Headphones" kind of guy, especially because I love to listen to bass-crunching music, but these headphones really made me rethink my opinion on "On-Ear Headphones". Not only do these headphones sound FANTASTIC, but they are also some of the most comfortable headphones that I have ever worn. It's not the fact that the cushions are super "cushion-ey", but more of the fact that the cushions are so light and the frame is so form-fitting that you don't even really notice that they are resting on your ears and head. Like other reviews have said, though, these don't exactly deliver much bass, but they do have superior sound that is very high definition.

I love my lowriders. I have had mine for over five years and they have seen every environment imaginable; they are incredibly durable. The sound is not insane but unless you want to go deaf you'll be fine. They are not designed for noise cancellation, that being said, I never get on a plane without them. If you are female and looking for a headset that won't look like it's devouring you skull then look no further. On the flip side, if you are male or have an exorbitantly large head these probably aren't for you.

      June 27th, 2013

I bought a pair of these just shortly before the Mic addition. The Bass is a little weak but the rest of it is pretty good. However you get what you pay for. they aren't exactly the most stylish headphones on the market (especially if you have short or no hair). But the sound quality is Skullcandy quality, but when you break them down sometimes it feels like they will snap. Which mine haven't and I am quite aggressive with these things. Currently saving up for Mix Master headphones

I bought these little over a year ago and Still love them. They were cheaper than I expected them to be and had good clear sound. The quality was better than most headphones but I always felt like it would easily break. Like I said before I have had them little over a year and had no technical problems. The one thing about the Lowriders that annoyed me was the comfort. After 40 mins or so my ears hurt and continued to be sore for 15 mins after taking of the headphones. All in a good piece of kit.

I'd have to say, these are probably the most comfortable on-ear headphones I've ever used. Lots of the on-ear headphones I've used were usually too tight, and so they pinched my ears, but these are pretty loose. Deffenately not for athletic usage. I'd like to see skullcandy do something different with their cord instead of using their rubber insulation all the time. This is the second pair of headphones I've had rip through at the plugin because of the rubber insulation. Make it more durable! The sound quality is great, and would possibly rival their in-ear headphones such as the Titans if they added better bass to them. IF you like to have really good bass response, look at their in-ear headphones, that's what I recommend.

I bought these several years ago and loved them, but over the years, the sound quality has lowered. If I turn up my iPod's volume to near-maximum, they're fantastic. But at my normal listening volume, I can't hear hardly anything - so when I put in other headphones after listening with these I get blasted with loud music. I will be replacing these soon and I know I will buy SkullCandy, but probably not this style. They're fantastically portable, but not quite the most attractive things ever. I'll probably go with a different on ear style like athletic or Hesh 2. Otherwise these are a great deal and fantastic quality if you don't mind replacing them in a few years - or bump up the volume!

I got the Rasta 2011 Lowriders in October 2011 and they are only now starting to wear in the wires. Sometimes sound will go out of one of the speakers, but only for a second or two. I may have to get some new ones in a couple months, though. If you treat these headphones nice they will last you a long time. They have very good sound, are very light, and easy to stash into a bag. I will definately get another pair when these go out. (If they still make them, unfortunatley it doesn't seem like they are. Probably just selling out their last stock of them.)

      Speakers Spin Upside Down

      November 10th, 2012

      by Greg

Comfortable. Yes. Good sound. Yes. The problem is that they are DJ type headphones. This means that they rotate horizontally 90 dedrees just above the yoke that holds the speaker housing. They also rotate vertically where the yoke is attached to the speaker housing causing the speaker housing to be facing the gound (best case) or be completely upside down when you go to put them on. Bottom line, they need to be fooled with and adjusted with both hands every time you put them on.

I got my Lowriders from my last trip to England. I've been using them almost every day (5 hours or more a day) for a year and have never had a problem with them. Excellent sound and build quality. If there was a bit more bass it would be perfect.

      Quality Sound, compact size

Received these headphones 2 1/2 years ago (so my 'value' rating might be slightly irrelevant). Brilliant quality sound given the compact size of the headphones. Recently replaced them with a pair of Skullcandy Hesh headphones, as the cable had frayed near the splitter, causing the right driver to stop working. Didn't have any problems with breakage as multiple people have reported. Some just need to learn to treat their headphones properly.

      Good for the price

The only bad thing about them is that the wire breaks very fast. My first pair lasted about 2 months before both of the speakers stopped working. Got them replaced, these ones are around 2 months old and the left speaker has stopped working. But other than that, they're very good for this price range.

    Amazing Sound!!

I always wanted The low Riders because they folded up, and they looked pretty sweet, but I was Leery of the sound Quality because they rest on your ears I also thought they were going to be uncomfortable. To great surprise I found the sound Amazing and you can barely feel the headphones! They are a great Investment. The fact that hey work on my phone is great too. I also love how they fold for easy storage. The only thing I was disappointed with is that they didn't come with a bag. But overall they are great. :)
